Celebrate Creativity in Bloom: Port Stephens Community Arts Centre Spring Affair 2026

Welcome the warmer weather with a fantastic day of colour, craft, and creativity at the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre Spring Affair! Spanning the entire centre, this vibrant community open day brings together talented local artisans, hands-on masterclasses, live demonstrations, and plenty of family-friendly fun.

Whether you are eager to pick up a new artistic hobby, watch skilled woodworkers and potters in action, or simply relax with homemade scones and a hot cuppa, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Entry is completely free, making it the perfect weekend outing for friends and families alike.

Live Demonstrations & Hands-On Art

The rooms will be buzzing with creative energy throughout the day. Head to the Westralia Room to catch artists demonstrating acrylics, mixed media, palette knife oils, pastels, and watercolours, or visit the Manoora Room to explore spinning, weaving, embroidery, and patchwork. You can also join in papercraft, Collage Art with Heldi Harber, and 'Oodles of Doodles'.

Over in the Gumleaf Studio and Manoora Room, check out wheel throwing, hand-building, and polymer clay demonstrations—plus free hands-on activities to keep the kids entertained.

Woodwork, Bonsai & Outdoor Fun

Down at the Woodies Shed, discover skatepark demonstrations and timber kit assembly where you can make your own bird feeder, bee hotel, or reindeer. Marvel at the intricate bonsai displays and discussions in the Gumleaf Studio, join the relaxing 11:00am Tai Chi session, or bring little ones to write letters in the Fairy Garden.

Delicious Treats & Local Plants

Take a break and indulge in classic scones with jam and cream, light lunches, tea, and coffee at the café (10:00am – 2:30pm). Be sure to drop by the Westralia Room cake stall for fresh homemade cakes, slices, and biscuits before they sell out, grab a $5 sausage sandwich from the Shed BBQ, and pick up a few green beauties at the plant sale.
