Community Craft & Aftershave Workshop at The Wood Oven

Handmade for Dad: Free Community Craft & Aftershave Workshop at The Wood Oven

Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate Dad while connecting with your local community? Head down to d'Albora Marina in Nelson Bay for a relaxed, creative afternoon by the water at The Wood Oven.

To give back to the locals who make Port Stephens so special, the family-run team at The Wood Oven hosts a free monthly craft gathering. Led by Craft Day Organiser and creative Jema, this August session gets ahead of Father’s Day by handcrafting a custom organic aftershave using natural, skin-nourishing ingredients—completely free of charge.

  • Date: Saturday, 29th August 2026
  • Time: 2:30pm – 5:00pm
  • Where: The Wood Oven, d'Albora Marina, Nelson Bay
  • Cost: FREE (All ingredients & materials supplied)

Give Dad the Gift of Handmade with Jema

Skip the store-bought gifts this Father's Day and join craft organiser Jema to create a personalised, soothing organic aftershave bottle to take home. Using pure ingredients like aloe vera juice to protect skin cells, witch hazel to tone and reduce inflammation, moisturising vegetable glycerine, and essential oils like tea tree and ylang ylang, it is the ultimate natural skincare treat for Dad.

All materials, bottles, and ingredients are provided at no cost, and crafters of all skill levels—from curious kids to grandparents—are warmly welcomed to take part.

Relax, Unwind, and Connect by the Marina

Designed as a pressure-free community space, you can come down purely to craft, meet friendly neighbours, and soak up the waterfront atmosphere. If you wish to treat yourself while you create, The Wood Oven offers authentic woodfired pizzas, fresh coffee, locally made cannoli from Pasta Di Porto, and local drops from Tynan Wines.
