Leave Your Mark: Help Build the Giant Flying Fox Lantern!
Did you know that a giant flying fox lantern is coming to Illuminate this year? The countdown to one of our region's favourite nights is on, and Port Stephens Council is inviting everyone to leave their mark on the festival by helping to build a massive community masterpiece before it takes centre stage!
Measuring an impressive 1 metre tall by 3 metres wide, this spectacular lantern celebrates our local flying fox bat colonies. Drop by the pop-up workshop at Marketplace Raymond Terrace over the weekend to get hands-on and contribute to the creation.
- Date: Friday, 11th September to Monday, 14th September 2026
- Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
- Where: Marketplace Raymond Terrace (shop front next to Telstra)
- Cost: FREE
