Whether you’re Irish or not, Saint Patrick’s Day — or Saint Paddy’s Day as some call it— is a fun time for the “wearing o’ the green,” and getting together with friends for a pint. So if you’re lookin’ for wee patch of ground for a bit of dancin’ and Irish Dry Stout drinking this St Patrick’s Weekend (Saturday March 16 and Sunday 17 March), then Murray’s Brewery is the place to go.
In honour of the Patron Saint of Ireland, the Port Stephens brewer is creating a special Irish Dry Stout, and the kitchen will cook up a storm with some popular Irish classics. There’s also FREE concerts commencing with Amy Fredes on Saturday and Prahlad on Sunday.
Prahlad is an acoustic rock specialist hailing locally from Newcastle Australia. Be it Solo or Duo mode he is always entertaining, mixing upbeat rockers with mellow chillers. He has toured the nation with great renditions of artists old and new mixing in his original songs from time to time. So this St Patrick’s day expect something out of the box with modern Irish tunes and maybe a sneaky sea shanty.
“We’ve been working on how to get that Gaelic feeling for St Patrick’s Day. Previously we have done really good, simple ales. But this year we thought we should mix it up a bit.
So we’re brewing that other great beer from the Emerald Isle – an Irish Dry Stout, just for the occasion!” said Murray’s Brewer, Sean Costigan.
There will be St Patricks Day food specials to accompany our Irish Dry Stout – think a Paddy’s Burger which comprises of Beef Brisket and a Hashbrown and an Irish Style Chicken Schnitzel. And what’s St Paddy’s Day without a festive cocktail? Try our Midori Splice and Midori Spritz only available this weekend!
Complimentary beer and wine tastings will be on offer at the St Patricks Day event on both days, a full lunch menu is available and a tour of the brewery takes place at 2.15pm for $5 for those who want to see how Murray’s award-winning beer is made.
So, dress up in the colours of the Irish flag (green, white and orange), or as a leprechaun; enjoy a traditional Irish meal; or a pint of Irish Ale – and visit Murray’s Brewery this St Patrick’s Day!
