Charismatic country boy Jason Owen is bringing his high energy show to the Bluewater Country Music Festival.

The chart-topping music artist will perform a selection of fan favourites, mixed-in with songs from his back catalogue during the Broughtons at the Bay event on Saturday, June 8 at 6pm.

“I can’t wait,” Jason said of the upcoming all-ages show.

“I’ll be singing some of my originals, as well as other classics you know, love and enjoy,” he added.

Bursting onto the Australian music scene in 2012 as runner-up of X Factor Australia, Jason launched his debut album, Life Is A Highway, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart and #5 on the Australian National ARIA Chart.

Jason has since released three more albums, including Friday Night which contains his first original hits, including Damn Right. The successful album also celebrates his First Nations background and features Australia’s most iconic female Indigenous entertainer Christine Anu on the title track, Proud.

His most recent album, Jason Owen Sings John Denver: The 20th Anniversary, is a labour of love which pays tribute to his Pop and the legendary American singer-songwriter, John Denver.

“My love for music and singing was introduced to me through my Pop who would listen to John Denver everyday,” Jason said.

“His music ignited my very own passion, and it will always have a special meaning to me and my Pop.”

Jason has continued to grow into a genuine country artist following his success on X Factor.

He has entertained audiences around the country for album tours and at popular events, including the Tamworth Country Music Festival, CMC Rocks the Hunter, the ACE Awards and the Sony Foundation’s Wharf4Ward event, which raises funds for youth cancer care.

He also has a Golden Guitar and three Country Music Channel (CMC) Award nominations to his name in categories including New Oz Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.

More recently, Jason popped the question to long-time girlfriend and now fiancee, Becy Harvey, and is now back in the studio and working on new material.

“I’m working on some fresh music that I can’t wait to share with everyone,” Jason added.
